Located on the south side of Kitchener, the Doon South neighbourhood has become very desirable in recent years. It has seen an explosion in growth with a large number of new detached townhouse style homes being built as the neighbourhood begins to expand westwards.

The area offers quick access to the 401 perfect for anyone who needs to commute including a nearby carpool lot, as well as being a 5 minute drive from Conestoga College Campus.

It also has a variety of parks, trails and forested natural areas perfect for walks and hikes, one of the many reasons contributing to its recent spike in popularity.

Doon South is an excellent neighborhood for those needing to commute via the 401 or anyone looking for easy access to trails & natural areas.

Things to do

Doon South is surrounded by a variety of various trails and natural areas including Doon Creek Natural Area, Topper Woods, and Blair Creek Natural Area.

Nearby is Shark Sport Co. sports complex offering an array of sports including soccer, volleyball, football, lacrosse, rugby, disc sports and basketball.

Within a 5 minute drive is access to two excellent golf courses - Whistle Bear Golf Club and Grand Valley Golf & Country Club.

For those looking for a night out the nearby Edelweiss Tavern offers regular live music events.

Restaurants

Some of the neighborhood favourites near the area include the well established Edelweiss Tavern who have an excellent schnitzel dinner, and the Rabbid Fox with great pub style options.

For pizza theres several options including the well regarded Pizzeria La Terrazza, and the Conestoga favourite Crispy Slice Pizza.

For those looking for a more elegant setting, I recommend checking out The Easy Pour Wine Bar offering a cozy relaxed vibe with excellent wine pairings and regular live music.

Within a 5 minute drive you will have access to the Zehrs Pioneer park offering a Dollarama, Shoppers Drug Mart, and Zehrs.

Slightly further north is an M&M meat shop and Tazaa Food Market offering Indian, Pakistani and Canadian groceries.

The Sportsworld Crossing plaza, which is a 10-minute drive on the highway, offers a Costco, Dutchies Fresh Food Market, and many other food and retail options.
