Things to do

Highland West Kitchener is well known for it's proximity to The Boardwalk. Here you will find a variety of amenities and entertainment including a Landmark Cinema, a large selection of restaurants and various stores.

For those looking to get outdoors, the nearby Monarch Woods natural area offers a great little reprieve from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. These trails are great for a casual walk amongst the trees alongside a small creak. It is not uncommon to see small wildlife passing through.

However, if you're looking for a bit more excitement then the nearby Hydrocut Trail system is the perfect as it's consistently ranked as one of the top mountain biking riding destinations in Ontario. These trails are open to the public and appropriate for a variety of skill levels featuring board walks, bridges, switchbacks and more. There are also several groups associated with it so be sure to check out their website to see the latest updates and special events.

The area has several parks scattered through out including Resurrection Park with a small play area perfect for small children and the slightly larger Lynnvalley Park which also has a small play set but alongside a larger open field with a baseball diamond. No matter where you are in the neighbourhood, you will always be nearby a local park.

Restaurants

Residents will find that the majority of restaurants nearby are located at the Kitchener Boardwalk. Here there are over 20+ different food options of various styles. These include a Coffee Culture, Firehouse Subs, Mcdonalds, Meetpoint, and more.

A Local favourite includes Thyme Pizza & Rolls which is well known for its shawarma pizza amongst other classic options.

Another is Madhu's Roti & Doubles which offers authentic Caribbean flavour with fresh ingredients. They are well known for their fantastic chicken and goat rotis.

Groceries

Residents have access to variety of grocery options nearby including a Walmart Supercentre, Food Basics and Sobeys all within a 5 minute drive. You are also close to the Waterloo Costco which is about a 5-10 minute drive away as well as a Real Canadian Superstore. Smaller options nearby include Onkar Food & Spices and an M&M Food Market.

Amenities

Nearby Gyms include a Movati Athletic at the Kitchener Boardwalk, and a Fit4Less to the north.

For those looking for some entertainment there is the Landmark Cinemas Waterloo at the Boardwalk as well.

The closest community centres include the Victoria Hills Community Centre to the east and the Forest Heights Community Centre to the south.
